The
Sigma 2000 Whole Home Water Conditioner utilizes modern
technology to put all of the best of other water treatment
systems into one tank. The following is a brief explanation of
the components used to give you these wonderful results, and why
we chose to put them in our water system.
The Sigma 2000 is a complete
water conditioning system. Sigma's state-of-the-art, all-in-one
technology gives you quality drinking water from every faucet,
while at the same time reduces the problems associated with hard
water. The Sigma 2000 is maintenance free. No Filters To Change,
No Salts to Buy, No Monthly Maintenance.
The functions of the Sigma
2000 are accomplished by 5 main components.
Digitally Controlled Valve
allows the system to automatically backwash. This system is
programmed to self clean, then rinse and sanitize weekly. It may
be backwashed into a drain or outside to lawns or plants. The
backwash is environmentally friendly and uses non-corroding
materials with a built-in hard water bypass. A 24-volt
transformer eliminates special wiring allowing, versatile
placement of the system.
Selected activated high density
coconut shell based carbon to remove taste and odor compounds
such as chlorine, organic and volatile organic chemicals (vocs).
Suspected carcinogens, including trihalomethanes that may be
present in your water, other pollutants and dissolved gasses
will be removed up to 99%.
Redox Media is a special blend
of materals called KDF 55® (NSF certified patented media). This
media blend performs four functions: Bacteriostatic to inhibit
bacteria in the filter bed, dechlorinates the water, removes
dissolved heavy metals, removes iron and prevents hardness
accumulation by restructuring the scale producing calcium.
Washed quartz refines the
water, traps sediment and does not impart minerals into the
water.
Conditioners suspend minerals
and reduce scale without adding salts. An alternative means to
conditioning water recognized by the US government since 1973
and used in Europe for over 50 years.
"In
1973, U.S. Government agencies identified an alternative method
(for water conditioning) that has been used for over 37 years in
Europe and Asia-the magnetic water conditioner".
Russell J. Alessi, Exec. V.P. Educational Foundation,
NAPHCC, August, 1987.
"I'm
now in favor of a system that combines a solid carbon block
filter with a copper-zinc alloy called KDF. This duel system
removes most impurities and is affordable and simple".
